Study
I decided to study International Communication (IC) because I wanted to know more about the effects that messages, news and campaigns have on society and to navigate between different cultures. I have learned that over the last decades, modern communication methods have turned the world into a global village and ongoing technological innovation changes the field of communication at a rapid pace. This requires today’s communication professionals to be able to adapt to a field that is constantly on the move. Because during my education I have worked with and for various different interesting companies my creativity and innovative skills were constantly challenged and it taught me to listen carefully to the client’s wishes and come up with a solution that is tailor-fit for them.
Personal life
Together with my boyfriend Nick and our cat Chilli, I live in the city centre of Groningen, the Netherlands. We have been together for almost 9 years, since December 2013. In 2017, Nick and I bought a house and slowly renovated every inch of the place over the course of 3 years. This was a huge project, but it also started a new interest of mine – interior design. Next to interior design, I absolutely love travelling and anything food. Over the past 9 years, nick and I have travelled to 16 different countries and the list of places we want to visit is only increasing. On our travels, we are always on the lookout for local food specialities.
